As with all mountain hunting, the weather is as unpredictable as a one-legged grizzly at a poker game. It can rain, snow, be foggy, then sunny all within the same hour.

Expect to have a lot of adverse weather no matter when you hunt in the mountains. Remember, what some hunters may consider bad weather may be normal for an area.

During the early moose season expect temperatures from 10 to 40 degrees at night and 30 to 60 during the day as a rule. Cool, damp weather is the norm. Yet, it can snow at anytime.

Your hunt will be tailored to your abilities, but anticipate hours of sitting and looking.
